After a week of camping to UP North,MI., my buddies here Lanie and Kim invited me to go for a strawberry picking at Middleton Berry Farm, just very near with Kim's place. The thought that i would be in the middle of the farm filled with strawberries was the one that made me excited
because i'm not so crazy of strawberries, i mean, if i have to choose from strawberries, apples, grapes or bananas, i would like the other fruits for my desertsalthough i also like the processed ones, like strawberry jams, popcicles, icecream, yogurt or even the lip gloss strawberry flavor
. It was one pleasant day at the farm, not sunny at allso it was just perfect time for us, (perfect for taking pics also
,)you know, first timer. I thought of tasting one strawberry and oh! boy it was really sweet and good
, and so i couldn't help but to eat while picking them
actually, everybody were eating also, that was so much funand Lanie's kids enjoyed as well(of course!). We also hopped in at Wojo's garden, so you'll notice that there are some flower pics included in the slides.
Anyway, here at home, i have been eating strawberries since Friday and until now i still got some after making a couple of Strawberry Smoothies
Just great for a hot summer day
Oh! well, this week has been a strawberry week for me not yet tired of eating them. We all enjoyed that outdoor activity
and i am excited for another berry picking again next month. Well, I think it's just good to make the most of summer and enjoy while it last
On the other note again aren't these pics cool?
Hubby Mark shovels the snow during winter, and mows the lawn on summeri just thought that the changing of seasons is amazing

Hi everyone we're back last Sunday from a week camping(June29 to July5) at Forest Lake in the Upper Peninsula(UP) North Michigan, about 395 mi or 6 and half hrs ride from our place. Our road trip was fun because we travelled in a convoy with my hubby's friends, (Scott and his big black dog Axle, couple Greg and Susan with daughter Erin) and we got walkie talkie or radio to use anytime there's a problem or anything. Their other friend Rob with wife Julie went there, Wednesday. I tell you, it was a nice vacation wherein, it was like we're in the middle of nowhere that all we could see are trees, lake, falls and some watchable animals around like birds, butterflies, chipmunks and squirrels, and it's nice that there were no bears
although i was curious to see one. The fresh air, campfires while having some drinks and grills, and lots of stars at night were awesome
very different here in the city that we could hardly see so much stars at night. Well, it was great to see, feel and experience the nature again once in a while. Hubby Mark and friends are camping regularly at least once a year and this is my second time with them. My first time camping was last year at Black Lake in Onaway City and he thinks that i also like camping, yes he's rightand I never missed the internet nor my TFC, isn't it amazingAlthough my skin got dark or tanned, i even got sunburn on my face, but that's ok

Last year we did not pass the mighty Mackinac Bridge So i was more excited and took video this time. The Mackinac Bridge of Mackinaw City is a 5 mile suspension bridge connecting MIchigan's Upper and Lower Peninsula
It was cool to have landed my feet on the LAKE SUPERIOR the largest, deepest, coldest and cleanest fresh water lake in the world whew! the water was really cold
UP North MI has several interesting names of the towns or communities, like the Paradise and Dollarville(sounds nice isn't it) and Christmas, so everyday is christmas in Christmas, MI

THE TAHQUAMENON FALLS STATE PARK in Paradise,MI has become famous for the magnificient UPPER FALLS. At 200 feet wide and nearly 50 feet of vertical drop, it is one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi. A maximum flow of more than 50,000 gallons of water per second has been recorded cascading over these falls.
The coloration of the water is due to the presence of tannic acid, which is a natural substance found in decomposing vegetation, such as eastern hemlock. Hemlock bark was once used to tan leather. It took 125 pounds of bark to tan 1 cow hide.
Four miles downstream is the LOWER FALLS, a series of five smaller falls cascading around an island.Although not as dramatic as the Upper Falls, they are equally magnificient.The falls can be viewed from the river bank or from the island, which can be reached by rowboat rented from a park concession. The island walk affords a view of the falls in the south channel.
UP North getaway would not be complete without the PICTURED ROCKS Boat Cruise in Munising,MI it was fantastic, awesome and beautiful Just great to discover the Scenic Natural Wonders on the waters of Lake Superior. It's a breathtaking 2 1/2-3 hour cruise along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The crystal clear blue green waters of Lake Superior have created masterpieces of colors and rock formations found nowhere else in the world and it's an unforgettable experience seeing those incredible formations up close. The 37 mile adventure passes points such as Lovers leap, Grand Portal, Miners Castle, Indian Head, just to name a few, and are described with legend and lore by the captain.

After the cruise, we took dinner and waited until the Fireworks Display started which was held at the Bayshore, Munising, just the same place where we had the cruise The Fireworks Display was awesome, well not as great like in Detroit but at least we also felt the Independence Day celebration last 4rt of Julynice treat!

Well, that's all folksto sum it up, we really had a great time with our UP North getawayand looking forward to have more campings and adventures in the future
On the other note, hubby and I, together with friends had a day at the beach(Blue Belle Beach, Genesse Park)in Flint, a day before going to camping. hmm.. the waterproof case for our small digi cam is really working good

How's everyoneWe had a nice weather last weekend but hubby and I just stayed here in our house, watched dvds all day and night(Bought eight dvds and rented just one from Blockbuster) yep! we're not movie addict at allWe also watched Cloverfield, hmm.. pretty scary, good but not great(for me) Anyway, we also greeted dad in law that Sunday, Father's Day(aside from the card that we sent) and a week before that, we invited him and mom for dinner on Father's Day but they said they were set for camping again, just like last month's mothers day, they also went out of town(Connecticut), nice to be retiredI am just happy for them because they are still both healthy, active and always on the GO
The photos were taken last Monday when we had a little picnic at Kim'swent there with Lanie & kids, Michelle and Alma with their kids also. We enjoyed our lunch at the wide and windy backyard, yep it was windy and so was a little chilly that day, it showered a bit in the late afternoon and good thing that we were all done with the chow and chikas, and oh! my very first driving here in MI Kim allowed me to drive their John Deere lawn tractor. She even said that i could use their truck but it did not have gas. It was nice of her because i never asked her and she just offered if i want to, i could drive it (what a nice host) even if she know that i have not started my driving lesson yet, but still, i think she never had a second thought and trusted me anyway, they have a huge backyard to roam around, the house and her car were kinda far away for me to hit, in casealthough i was never nervous or anything(feeling Pro) I think it was Kim and Lanie who got nervous when i was driving a little faster, i understand, i got the kids riding with me so i just have to drive easy and slow, and i guess the kidos enjoyed the ride it was great to drive again, even for a little time. My father and brother in the Phils. taught me to drive, long time ago and I already had student permit before, but i was not able to pursue my driving for some reasons maybe if i only knew that i would be coming here in America, maybe i would try my best to pursue itI thought i would be staying and living in my country Phils. for all of my life and there, transportation is so easy and always available. Life really has full of surprises, we don't know what's gonna happens next so be ready always Anyway thank you Kim for having us i really had a nice time! till next time ha

I waited for hubby(from work) to pick me at Lanie's and we spent couple of hours singing karaoke first before going home Thank you also lanie i can't be there tomorrow but anyway i know you'll have fun, especially the kids
It's still a little chilly again today, actually this week's temp. is always been below 70degrees. It's just ok and as long as there's no storms or tornado warnings, i am good here. I hope that you are all fine also
